Eric Richter has conducted seven surgical workshops in Uganda lasting two weeks each through an organization called IVUmed. Eric has learned essential lessons, along with the values of IVUmed whereby they work closely with host nation partners. The primary mission is teaching and mentorship rather than simply doing cases. As a result, there is proven sustained benefit to the communities served. Eric has been able to develop many close relationships and friends among his Ugandan colleagues. These experiences can be readily translated and implemented into conducting basketball camps for and alongside our Ugandan friends and partners.

Josephine is a freshman at Colorado School of Mines and a recent graduate of St. Mary's High School. She has been playing basketball since second grade. In high school, Josephine was two time Colorado player of the year and led her team to two state titles. She is looking forward for the opportunity to be playing at the collegiate level and work towards a degree in biomechanical engineering. Sports and particularly basketball have given and taught her so much such as setting goals and working tirelessly towards them, meeting some of her closest friends, confidence, teamwork and leadership skills. She is excited to give back and teach other girls the game she loves so much.
